Nona Moms' Guide to Summer Survival

Keeping Kids Engaged and Parents Sane in Lake Nona

Summer's here, and while the initial excitement of no more school runs and packed lunches is real, the reality of keeping kids entertained can quickly set in.

For Lake Nona moms, balancing fun and sanity is key.

Here are some local activities to help you navigate the summer months.

Adventure Awaits at Nona Adventure Park

For a full day of heart-pumping fun, look no further than Nona Adventure Park.

Start with the sprawling 1,000-foot floating obstacle course that is part playground, part ninja training.

Then scale the 60-foot climbing tower and ropes course, complete with wobble bridges, tilting boards and a jungle trail.

Younger kids can tackle the lower-level junior course with a parent.

For more excitement, check out the Wake Nona Cable Park.

Challenge yourself with wakeboarding, kneeboarding and water skiing on a state-of-the-art cable system.

Need some guidance? Expert-led private lessons will have you confidently riding the waves.

Summer Camps at Sofive XL Lake Nona

For those looking for less soccer and a more summer camp feel, the adventure camp is for you!

We pride ourselves on being safe, accommodating, affordable, and engaging!

Our camp is structured to involve and engage each camper as they learn, play, and grow while having fun.

Our dedicated, mature and absolutely fun-loving staff will guide and nurture your child as they explore individual interests, build leadership skills, develop new talents and make new friends.

Our goal is to create an environment that facilitates Integrity, Sportsmanship, and Character and of course FUN!

Library Programs at Orange County Public Library – Lake Nona Branch

Lake Nona’s Orange County Library branch offers weekly summer programs at Dockside as part of the Summer At Your Library series.

These programs combine storytelling, STEM, and hands-on creativity for curious minds of all ages.

With so many creative programs to choose from, the library might just be the coolest place to be this summer.

And getting lost in the air-conditioned rows of adventure stories, sci-fi odysseys, and thrilling mysteries? Not a bad way to beat the Florida humidity.

Indoor Fun at Lake Nona Performance Club

Lake Nona Performance Club offers a variety of activities for kids, including climbing in ROX, volleyball, basketball, badminton, pickleball, swimming, and yoga.

Open to children from 6 – 12 years old, access is included with family membership, and reservations are required.

Supervised, scheduled classes are available, ensuring your kids stay active and engaged.

Summer with kids at home can be a lot.

Some days you’re nailing it with sunscreen, snacks, and smiles… and other days you’re hiding in the bathroom for a few moments of peace.

You don’t need to curate a Pinterest-worthy summer.

You don’t need to make it magical every day.

You just need to make it through.

They’ll just remember you being present.

So, if all else fails, head to the beach and pretend real life doesn’t exist.

We’ve got this! But send coffee.
