Best Friends in the Nonahood: Mila’s Menagerie |
Mila's Adventures with Local Wildlife in Laureate Park |
Mila, the charming mixed-breed rescue from Dallas, has been embracing her new life in Laureate Park with her owners, Peter and Melissa.
Recently, during a family visit to Boca Raton, Mila encountered a large iguana in the yard.
The iguana played dead, and after careful sniffing, Mila walked away.
The savvy iguana escaped – smart guy!
Back home, Mila is endlessly trying to catch squirrels.
She will sit under a tree for long periods staring at a shivering squirrel sitting on the branches, or she will run along her fence when a squirrel passes by.
It is not likely that Mila has friendly intentions with squirrels—hoping these squirrels can learn from iguanas!
Mila’s favorite toy is a very realistic looking stuffed toy squirrel.
Perhaps Mila just really wanted to be close to a squirrel all along.
But squirrels are not the only creatures in Mila’s world.
Recently, she has spotted deer and even armadillo.
Now she has discovered cattle, and she is totally mesmerized.
Or is she wondering if she can intimidate these huge creatures on the other side of the fence?
It might be tough for her Paw-Rents to find a life-sized stuffed one she can sleep with along with the squirrel.
Mila’s menagerie – it’s an interesting world!!
Laureate Park, known for its vibrant community and pet-friendly environment, has been bustling with activity.
In February 2024, the area celebrated the 30th anniversary of "Paws in the Park" at Lake Eola Park, featuring adoptable pets, dock diving, and a pet costume contest.
Additionally, the neighborhood is set to welcome Luminary Square, a mixed-use development offering new apartments and retail spaces, enhancing the community's appeal.
With such developments, Laureate Park continues to be a haven for residents and their furry companions. |
